It wasn't concealed...

Not long after walking by a cop sitting in his car, that let a Mercury Cougar speed down 14th St., I was behind a woman on the sidewalk. Carrying a sword.

A real, sharp, pointy sword. Granted, she didn't look like she was about to get all The Bride on someone's ass; she was a short, middle-aged woman. But still. Sword. So here comes another cop. The be-sworded woman was standing at the corner of New Hampshire and 17th, waiting for the walk signal. I was standing a safe distance back. The cop doesn't go through his green light, but instead stops, backs up, and parks on the opposite side of the road. I was sure he would at least raise an eyebrow and ask the woman what she's doing with a sword. But no. Walk signal comes on, woman walks in front of the cop, and continues on her way. Yes, I'm a bit uptight. But geez. Maybe the fact she looked all sweet and matronly was all PART OF THE PLAN. If she were wearing a ninja outfit, I bet things would have been different. Then again, with the DC cops, probably not.
